About us
CISARD - CENTRE FOR INTEGRATED SOCIAL ACTION & RURAL DEVELOPMENT INTRODUCTION
Cisard is a Public Charitable Trust working as a catalyst for the development of remote micro-village communities in the Thiruverambur Block, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. The organization focuses on the most disadvantaged, underprivileged rural women belonging to economically, socially, and politically oppressed Dalit communities. The main issues in these villages are unemployment and underemployment.

WELFARE SCHEMES
To encourage village women to improve their economic status by imparting technical skills and availing all development and welfare schemes.
To create awareness among the village women and include in them the spirit of participation in hygeine, sanitation, mother and child care, nutrition, importance of education for women, and to make them know their potentialities.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING
To organise the young girls and village women by training them in vocational skills for leadership and self-employment.
To help the women to prepare nursery beds in every village, and to encourage plantation of fruit trees, social forestry and kitchen garden in their homes by promoting the overall environment of the villages.

LEADERSHIP TRAINING
To evolve local leadership and facilitate them to have an access to the resources of their neighbourhood through leadership training and education about the Panchayat Raj.
To start income generation programme for the village women and thereby increasing their standard of living in the villages.
BRIEF HISTORY
Mr. K. Joseph Irudayaraj, the Founder Director of this organization was a Jesuit Scholastic from Andhra Jesuit Province who underwent 4 years of rigorous training under a Belgian Jesuit Prof. M. A. Windey S. J. Founder Director, VRO - Village Reconstruction Organisation India. Having imbibed the spirit of service and enthusiasm to work for those who have less the organization has come into existence. Missions Prokur Germany & Mr. K. Selvaraj Proprietor of JPS Timber Traders funded the construction of the office building cum Training Centre which is 7 km from Tiruchirappalli Railway Station & 3 km from Tiruchchirappalli Airport. Chevalier Rev. Fr. P. Ceyrac S. J. France blessed & inaugurated the building on Trinity Sunday 30th May 1999.
